Overview
Spells are magical syntaxes that, once cast, will consume some mana in order to produce the desired effect.
All spells require a certain amount of mana every time they are used, and also have a minimum level requirement. In addition to these restrictions, some spells can only be used by certain vocations.
You cannot use spells too rapidly, as the client will tell you that you are exhausted if you cast spells too quickly in a short period of time. Note that you will not get muted for quickly casting spells, but you cannot cast spells while muted.
The skills of the magic user have a direct impact upon the effectiveness of most spells and runes. While the magic level has the largest impact upon the effect of spells, it is also effected by the experience level to a lesser degree.
Spells are useful for many different things. With spells, you can do almost anything from summoning a horde of skeletons to fight by your side, to generating magical light to illuminate your path.

Helmets are the second important item in Equipment. They provide less defence than Armors, but helmets are cheaper and more common than Legs with the same armor value.
Most low-level Players use Soldier Helmet, middle-levels Warrior Helmet or Crown Helmet (especially mages because of it's low weight) and high-levels use Royal Helmet or Demon Helmet which is part of Rare Set.
The strongest helmet is the Golden Helmet, also known as the Helmet of The Stars (HOTS).
The strongest helmet in Rookgaard, the newbie island, is the Legion Helmet.

There are two types of containers: Item Containers and Liquid Containers. As their names indicate, an Item Container can only hold Items (not liquids), and a Liquid Container can only hold Liquids (not items).

Item containers have different capacities. Some containers can hold 20 items (Backpack), while other containers may only be able to hold 5 items (Present Box).
Some item containers can be carried in your backpack. Other item containers cannot. If you try to pick up a container that cannot be carried, you will see a message that says "you cannot take this item".

n his divine wisdom Uman realised at once that Tibiasula could be a powerful ally in the project of creation, and soon he asked her to join forces with Fardos and himself to work on the gargantuan task that lay before them. Tibiasula, who was also intrigued by the idea of creation, was easily won over. And so it came to pass that there were three creators where previously there had only been two, and together they set to work with renewed vigour. This time, however, they chose a different approach. Uman, whose very nature destined him to reveal secrets and to gain insights, had realised that something was missing, a fixed point, a firm fundament on which creation could be built. Without it, there would be no way to focus the raw creative forces, and all the gods' efforts would be in vain. And thus Uman invented time! He knew that if the void was set in motion and subjected to the eternal flux of time it would be much easier to focus their divine powers.
ut first, time had to be created. To this end, all the gods combined their powers. Even Zathroth, Uman's evil half who openly disdained creation, was fascinated by the idea of time, and he agreed to aid the other elder gods in their effort. His offer was gladly accepted, for the other gods did not know then what he had clearly seen from the start: That time held a seed of destruction. He understood that a world that was subject to the ceaseless passing of time would be doomed to perish slowly, and this was why he gladly accepted to help in its creation. And so it came to pass that for once all the elder gods worked together and cast their combined powers into the void. And when at last a huge spiral took shape in the void, the crystal column of time that was to be the fundament of the whole creation, the gods rejoiced. Zathroth, however, rejoiced even more than he dared to show because he knew that now all creation would be flawed in a way that could never be undone.athroth had opposed the idea of creation all along, and he had secretly sworn to thwart the other gods' plans by any means necessary. To this end he had assisted them in the creation of time, and this was the reason he finally decided to kill Tibiasula. He had held a grudge against the goddess ever since she was created because he loathed to share his divine status with yet another deity. However, his dislike turned into deadly hate when he saw that Tibiasula successfully filled the gap which he, Zathroth, had left by refusing to participate in creation. Finally, he made up his mind up to do the unthinkable. He secretly created a dagger of great power into which he bundled all his hate and his destructive power, a weapon that was fit to kill a god. Then he lay waiting, biding his time for the perfect moment. And sure enough that moment came. One fateful day, when the other gods had all but exhausted their powers to finish the mighty column of time Zathroth used the opportunity and took Tibiasula aside. Innocent and perfectly unaware of her fellow god's malicious intentions, Tibiasula was easy prey. Zathroth thrust the blade into her heart with all the strength he could muster. Mortally wounded the goddess sank to the ground, and out of her fading body bled the elements of fire, water, earth and air - the components of her divine being that had been torn out of their former harmony by Zathroth's disgraceful treachery.hen they learnt about the heinous deed Uman and Fardos were shocked. They tried to hold on to the dying Tibiasula, hoping to keep her from disintegrating into the void, from slipping out of their hands like their previous creations. When everything else had failed they came up with a desperate plan: They decided to weave a powerful spell that would bind Tibiasula's fading body to the column of time. Zathroth laughed in mocking triumph, but this time he made a crucial mistake, because he failed to listen carefully to the words Uman and Fardos uttered, and so he missed the one chance he had to learn the secret of creation, a secret that would be hidden from him forever. Uman and Fardos, however, went on to weave the elusive elements into powerful strands. It was beyond their power to unite them to their previous harmony, but instead they achieved something that was altogether new: The first genuine creation.

A violation of the Tibia Rules may lead to temporary banishment of characters and accounts. In severe cases removal or modification of character skills, attributes and belongings, as well as the permanent removal of accounts without any compensation may be considered. The sanction is based on the seriousness of the rule violation and the previous record of the player. It is determined by the gamemaster imposing the banishment.These rules may be changed at any time. All changes will be announced on the official website.

es, you have read correctly, the very first patch teaser is here! From now on we will launch a patch every spring and fall in addition to our updates. Those patches will mostly contain adjustments and improvements concerning game play and technical performance. Even though new content and completely new features will be reserved for the large updates in summer and winter, theses patches are certainly something to look forward to.In the last few months, we have asked you for your opinion on the death penalty in votings and on the proposal and discussion board. Many players contributed to these discussions and provided valuable feedback and many ideas and suggestions. It became quite clear that the majority of players considers the loss of experience, skill and items to be too high in Tibia. In several internal discussions, we were looking for ways and means to tackle this problem based on your feedback. With this patch, we will reduce the death penalty to a certain extent. Rest assured, however, that Tibia will still stay a challenge, a tough game, and also in the future, death will not be a pleasant experience.First of all, we will reduce the experience and skill loss in general. Up to level 24, however, all characters without blessings and promotion will lose 10% of their skill and experience points like before. From level 24 on, the percentage of experience points that you lose upon death will slowly decrease. A character of level 50 will lose 1 level and from then on half a level more every 50 levels. This means, a character of level 100 will lose 1.5 levels, with level 150 character you will lose 2 levels and with a character of level 200 you will lose 2.5 levels and so on. So a character of level 180 will approximately lose 2.3 levels. The loss of skill points also depends on a character's level. The higher the level, the less percent of skill points you will lose when dying. Let's say a level 100 dies without blessings and promotion after the patch. He will lose 1.5 levels, which is about 4.5% of his total experience (was 10% before patch). Likewise, he will lose 4.5% of his skills. Second, all characters on main will now have the possibility to reduce their item, experience and skill loss by buying blessings. The price for one blessing now depends on a character's level which will make blessings also interesting for characters of lower levels. Up to level 30 a blessing costs 2,000 gp; from level 31 to 119 you have to pay 2,000 gp + 200 gp for every additional level above level 30; for characters of level 120 and above a blessing costs 20,000 gp. Now high levels may think that 100,000 gp sounds much for 5 blessings, but blessings will not only reduce your experience and skill loss. They will also reduce the probability to lose an item or your backpack. With only 1 blessing, you already reduce the probability to lose some of your equipment by 30%, with 2 blessings by 55%, with 3 by 75%, with 4 by 90% and players that have all 5 blessings will not lose any of their hard earned belongings at all in case of a death.Update: Due to the extensive feedback we received concerning the planned removal of the amulet of loss, we decided to keep it ingame as it is for the time being as an addition to the new blessings which also reduce the risk of losing items upon death. For further information, please have a look at the designated thread on our discussion board.Current price changes concerning blessings have been adjusted to the new costs: The phoenix egg will reduce the price for The Spark of the Phoenix by 10%, and buying the Blessing of the Inquisition will raise the price for 5 blessings by 10%.All in all, characters will lose less items, experience and skill points after the patch. Promotion will still reduce the death penalty by 30%. Each blessing will reduce your experience and skill loss by 8%, which is a bit less than before when a blessing reduced it by 10%. But since we reduced the death penalty in general, a character of level 100, for example, will only lose 1.35% of his experience and skills after the patch, provided he has bought all 5 blessings and promotion. Before the patch, a character of level 100 could reduce the loss of experience and skill points only up to 2%. Moreover, you can finally use some of the other great necklaces like the elven amulet or the dragon necklace that are useful in your daily fights against fierce and dangerous creatures. Minotaur Archers form the artillery of the minotaurs' army. Using their crossbows they shoot bolts at their enemies. Many adventurers have died in the hail of missiles. Usually, they are accompanied by other types of minotaurs.
Minotaur Archers have 100 hitpoints. They are strong against fire and holy damage. On the other hand, they are weak against ice and death damage. It takes 390 mana to summon or convince these creatures.
Minotaur Archers yield 65 experience points. They carry bolts, gold coins, meat, piercing bolts, and sometimes other items with them.

Zombies
Necromancy knows many forms of zombiefication. There are potions, spells and even apparatuses to raise the dead to serve their masters. While it is quite easy to raise a Zombie, it is more complicated to gain control. A good deal of aspiring zombie masters have died at the rotting hands of a creature that was meant to become their minion.Zombies have hardly any intelligence. If they do not have somebody controlling them, they tend to follow primal instincts such as eating and hunting. The undead state makes Zombies resilient and quite strong. However, their process of decomposing never stops and so sooner or later, a Zombie turns into a skeleton, losing strength and resilience, but strangely enough, gaining some intelligence.Sometimes the ingredients for zombiefication potions are set free in disadvantageous environments such as town wells through which the Zombie plague spreads like an infection. If this happens, whole towns are overrun by transformed Zombies that later haunt the surrounding area for months, or even years. For such incidents, all potential zombie masters are chased by the inquisition. In some years, the popularity to burn suspicious alchemists even outstripped the popularity of witch trials.
Zombies have 500 hitpoints. They are immune to earth, energy, ice, and death damage and cannot be paralyzed. Moreover, they are strong against fire damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced.
Zombies yield 280 experience points. They carry gold coins, rotten meat, torches, and sometimes other items with them.

Wands

Wands are used only by sorcerers. They deal damage and use a small amount of mana. Druids cannot use Wands, they use rods instead.
Wands are One-Handed, so they can be used together with a shield, and they fire every turn.
Unlike normal weapons these weapons can fire at distance.
Wands cause Fire, Death or Energy damage depending upon the wand. A benefit of this is that every hit causes damage and the damage is not mitigated by the creature's armor. The drawback is that some creatures are immune to these types of damage and with the high level wands you can run out of mana very quickly if you hunt without stop for a while.
Wands are lootable from a variety of magically-inclined monsters, so (as with any equipment purchase) remember to search around and look for wands sold by players which will be at far lower prices than those on offer by the merchant NPCs.

Rods are loot able from a variety of magically-inclined monsters, so (as with any equipment purchase) remember to search around and look for rods sold by players which will be at far lower prices than those on offer by the merchant NPCs.
Use the landscapes of the various areas to your advantage when using rods. The rods which shoot at a distance can be used in different circumstances which will prove advantageous to you, just as paladins use bows and arrows to their advantage. The distance between an enemy and yourself could be the deciding factor in battle as if the monster is unable to attack from afar, you will not be damaged BUT will be damaging the monster at the same time. Employ the tactics of a paladin and run around trees to confuse the enemy while hurling death inducing missiles at them with your Necrotic Rod, and chill your opponents with the rays of the Moonlight Rod - make your own strategies for success!
As rods consume mana when fired, a useful tip is to remember to use this to your advantage if you decide to train your magic level. When a rod is fired on to a creature which is immune to the attack, the mana consumed will still count towards a magic level. In other words, using a Snakebite Rod on a creature which is immune to earth damage, will train your magic level but will not harm the monster. This tactic may sound useless, but pair this with the fact that mana regenerates quick enough for elder druids to repeatedly shoot the monster and not lose (or gain) any mana - this makes for knight-like training. If you wish to use this strategy as an unpromoted druid, then you can expect to slowly lose mana over time as the regeneration times are slower than that of an elder druid, although the strategy is still quite useful. It also makes sense to trap a creature such as a wild (or convinced/summoned) poison spider near a fishing spot and fish whilst you gain magic levels. This strategy however is mainly of use to lower level druids within the regions of level 7-23, as they will most likely be unable to make magic runes for profit due to level restrictions on spells.

Creatures are the inhabitants of Tibia aside from human players and NPCs. Every different type creature has its own characteristics which make it unique.
Creatures share the entire world of Tibia, so they can be found all throughout the land. They will generally stay with other creatures of their own kind, and different creatures prefer different environments. This is why you can find Deer and Rabbits in grassy places. Slimes will always be found near water (usually underground), Dwarves spend most of their time in the mines and Demons prefer places deep underground. Usually, the most dangerous places are the hardest to reach.

The Djinns are a race of Magical Creatures. They sleep in Small Oil Lamps, and have various unusual magical powers. They are dangerous to cross, and will not eagerly speak with humans. For ages, the djinns have been engaged in a civil war between the Efreet and the Marid. They are so evenly matched, however, that neither side has been able to overcome the other.
Both factions of djinn are reclusive, and remain almost exclusively in their fortresses in the Kha'zeel west of Ankrahmun. The Efreet and the Green Djinn remain in the Mal'ouquah, while the Marid and Blue Djinn are fortified in the Ashta'daramai.
More of the history of the Djinns can be learned from the libraries in the djinn fortresses.
The name "Djinn" comes from the Arabic word for Genie.

Amazons are a group of woman head-hunters. They are not cannibals, they simply seem to keep their victims' heads as trophies. All kinds of amazons are skilled distance fighters and they are fond of gems and jewelry. They will defend their homes with great ferocity.
Their largest camp is located in the Green Claw Swamp near Venore, and they do not stray very far from here except to raid nearby human settlements to the north-west. They very rarely will travel through the swamp.
There seems to be some relationship between amazons and witches, since they appear to trust one another, but this has not been substantiated, and is certainly not fully understood.

Behemoths
Behemoths are giant monsters that live in the ancient town deep below Edron. They look a bit like cross-breeds of humans and bulls and even talk in human language, but nobody knows yet where they come from. Although they are of minor intelligence, they are very strong fighters and throw huge stones at their opponents.
Behemoths have 4000 hitpoints. They cannot be paralyzed. Moreover, they are strong against physical, fire, earth, energy, and holy damage. On the other hand, they are weak against ice and death damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced. In addition, they are able to sense invisible creatures.
Behemoths yield 2500 experience points. They carry amphoras, assassin stars, crowbars, double axes, gold coins, meat, and sometimes other items with them.

Dragon Lords
Dragon Lords are the leaders of the dragons. They are even more powerful than normal dragons that can usually be found in their company. Like normal dragons, they can throw fireballs, spit fire, and heal themselves, but they can also throw great fire bombs.
Dragon Lords have 1900 hitpoints. They are immune to fire damage and cannot be paralyzed. Moreover, they are strong against earth and energy damage. On the other hand, they are weak against ice damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced. In addition, they are able to sense invisible creatures.
Dragon Lords yield 2100 experience points. They carry dragon ham, gold coins, green mushrooms, and sometimes other items with them.

Minotaur Mages
Minotaur Mages are the elite of the minotaurs' army. With their magic they support the other troops in a fight. They can create energy fields and shoot fireballs or magic missiles. As they are weak short-range fighters, guards will protect them while they operate from the second row.
Minotaur Mages have 155 hitpoints. They are strong against earth, energy, and holy damage. On the other hand, they are weak against ice and death damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced. In addition, they are able to sense invisible creatures.
Minotaur Mages yield 150 experience points. They carry carrots, dead snakes, gold coins, knives, leather helmets, leather legs, torches, and sometimes other items with them.

Orcs
Orcs are a very ancient race that once ruled the whole of Tibia. Later, they were expelled from the upper world by other races, and now they live in the dungeons of Tibia. They are human-like and very wily. Organised as paramilitary squads they can be quite dangerous.
Orcs have 70 hitpoints. They are strong against energy and holy damage. On the other hand, they are weak against earth and death damage. It takes 300 mana to summon or convince these creatures.
Orcs yield 25 experience points. They carry gold coins, meat, studded armors, studded shields, and sometimes other items with them.

Fire Devils
Fire Devils are very ugly creatures that have been spotted in the deserts of Tibia. Nobody knows where these beings came from. Just like the devils from the myths, they carry a pitchfork with them and one of their feet is that of a goat. But are they real devils? However, their pungent gaze makes the experienced traveller shaken and their fireballs are quite dangerous.
Fire Devils have 200 hitpoints. They are immune to fire damage. Moreover, they are strong against physical, earth, energy, and death damage. On the other hand, they are weak against ice and holy damage. It takes 530 mana to summon or convince these creatures.
Fire Devils yield 110 experience points. They carry blank runes, pitchforks, torches, and sometimes other items with them.

The Triangle of Terror is a group of three archdemons.
Edowir says the following about it:
"The Triangle of Terror is a cabal of three archdemons that have put aside their quarrels to establish some power in the shadows of the Ruthless Seven. Although they are all very mighty demons, compared to one of the seven, they appear weak. So they try not to interfere much with the doings of the seven and look for power elsewhere. Their members are Morgaroth, the schemer, Ghazbaran, the lord of blades and Zoralurk, the demon with the thousand faces."
The Triangle, unlike the The Ruthless Seven, whose power is themed around destruction and damnation, seem to specialise in intrigue, acting from the shadows and using puppets to do their dirty work. Morgaroth is a master of lies and schemes, much like Bazir of the Ruthless Seven. Ghazbaran is a master assasin, denoted by his deadly blade-themed abilities and the Deathslicers that accompany him. Zoralurk is the master of disguise, shown by his shapeshifting abilities. Despite this cloak-and-dagger aproach, the Triangle is more than willing to fight hands on, displaying incredible powers that would send Orshabaal running for the hills. It is likely that the Triangle of Terror are the hardest bosses in the land of Tibia, requiring many adventurers to kill them. However, the rewards are well worth it.

There are many books in Tibia. Their content range all from just a title, to clues for quests, to full length stories spawning more than just one book. You can usually find books in libraries in towns, but sometimes also near ruins of old houses, in dead trees or barrels out in the wilderness. These do often have a clue for a quest or how to find a place, item or key.
There is also a type of book that is magical. They are called spellbooks. The magic thing about them is that their content changes depending on who is reading it. The content always tells which spells the person reading it knows and some information about them.
Some types of empty books that you can write in can be bought in shops, others can only be found as loot from certain creatures. Note that some writeable items are not books (see Documents and Papers).
